…. Self Catering In Yorkshire
You can eat what you want, when you want, where you want and how you want! All great ingredients for a fabulous holiday!
Self catering in Yorkshire is the only way to holiday, let me explain my thinking.
No time restrictions
My favourite thing about self-catering has to be the flexibility it offers. This ultimately leads to the most relaxing breaks, as each day can unfold naturally without worrying about getting up in time for breakfast or getting back in time for the evening meal. I am certainly not one to miss a meal if I have already paid for it!
The choice to eat in or to eat out. Eat out every evening if you choose, in the various local eateries such as The Grapes Inn in the village, The Talbot or The New Inn in Malton, the White Swan in Pickering……
Eating out offers the luxury of being weighted on and no clearing away afterwards.
Alternatively, you can show off your culinary skills in the well-equipped kitchen at Spring Cottage. It even has a nutmeg grater! You can experiment with local produce such as Yorkshire rapeseed oil and try new flavours of ice cream for pudding. Anyone for toffee and fudge ice cream from Ryeburn of Helmsley?
The following day, you can enjoy your favourite breakfast (full English or a more healthier option). We can supply a Yorkshire breakfast on request, full of Yorkshire produce eg free range eggs and local bacon. All this before adventuring out to explore the North Yorks Moors with a picnic. You can stock your picnic basket from one of the farm shops en route, such as Cedar Barn.
For me cooking with my family and friends on self catering breaks has created so many happy and funny memories over the years. It’s a time to talk together, laugh together, listen to music together and enjoy a glass of wine together. Also, when self catering you haven’t got to worry about your excitable junior guests disturbing diners on the next table.
When your meal is ready, at Spring Cottage you have the option to light some candles and put on some music; to enjoy your meal in the beautiful dining room or dine al fresco in the beautiful cottage garden.
At Spring Cottage a range of Yorkshire goodies can be delivered to the door. How does Yorkshire afternoon tea sound with homemade scones and jam? Or a picnic hamper? Or a birthday cake to help celebrate a special occasion? We can provide the fizz too!
We can stay in our pjs as late as we want to as we don’t have to worry about getting dressed to go down for breakfast or the maid coming in. Relaxing in the tranquil garden with no strangers around is so much more peaceful, stress-free and homely. And is only possible on a self catering holiday.
Now doesn’t self catering in Yorkshire sound like the only way to holiday?
And doesn’t Spring Cottage sound like just a fabulous cottage to do it in?
See you soon!
